My wife is a retired ER RN...some of her stories are epic. the best one...
was a UofA student who was brought in by by his frat brothers.
They were out in the desert west of Tucson and happened up a Gila Monster (GM). The kid was messing around with it and unzipped his pants...ayup the GM latched on to his wang.
They brought him into the ER...my wife was the lead RN. Hilarity ensued.
Since the GM is a protected species in AZ the State Game & Fish had to be called in. The ER surgeon was needed, he needed assistance from a veterinarian from Game & Fish to perform the surgery to save the GM and the wang. The GM's bite is poisonous but not generally deadly.
After 3 hours of surgery the GM and the wang were saved but then Game & Fish issued a citation to the young man for GM abuse and then charged for the vet.
